Eyes: pale icy blue, with a band of darker navy around the edge of the iris
Hair: black
Height: 5 feet 8 inches
Weight: 126lbs
Distinguishing Features(if any): small circular scar on left elbow
Play-by: Kaya Scodelario
Overall appearance: Aliah is of quite a slim build, but she is lean and has a bit of muscle lurking under her pale skin. This, combined with her long, lightly waved ebony locks and arctic blue eyes, is attributed to her 'black irish' blood. Her oval shaped face tapers to a slightly pointed chin, and her almond shaped eyes that are just shy of being what some would call too big for her face, her dark, thick but perfectly arched eyebrows, her full lips, wide mouth, straight teeth and thin, small nose have her labelled 'striking' rather than pretty.
Generally, her hair will be out as its got a mind of its own and even when piled in a bun, strands escape. Her eyes will be lined with a trace of black kohl, which stands out against her skin, which is pale enough to be noticeable but not so pale as to be categorised as 'sickly' or 'pasty'. Needless to say, she burns rather than tans under harsh sunlight. On a slightly warmer day, small amounts of colour can be seen in her cheeks, and similarly when she's been active or in a rush. She carries herself very upright, and despite her long, slender limbs, can move quite gracefully when she needs to, but generally prefers her lazy, slightly bouncing gait around the school corridoors.
If not found in her school uniform, of which she normally has the skirt a little too short, even in winter (where she'll just wear dark socks over slightly sheerer tights for effect), the blazer perhaps a size too small, and her tie a little looser than the school regulations recommend, she'll be found in an array of different styles of clothing. If lounging in the common room or any of the public spaces, she'll most likely be found in skinny jeans, tank tops and an assortment of hoodies and jumpers (some of which pilfered from her older brother's sports gear trunk - her favourite of which is the IRELAND quidditch team hoodie from the finals in '94) or if she's just returned from sports practice or is feeling particularly lazy, said brother's quidditch team trackies and any number of her muggle band t-shirts, which her muggle cousin gives her and she wears them mainly to cause a stir. Of course, her usual footwear of choice when not in her school flats is a battered pair of Converse in either black or red.

Erised: Can she pick one? Immediately, she'd like to get to Quidditch Captain and dux her year in their final exams
Patronus: Being at some 'concert' with her muggle cousin and brothers when she was 13. They camped in the back of a big automobile her aunt said was a 'hippy van', and got to wander around a fairy-light lit forest to the small market nearby. It was 3 days of the weirdest experiences ever, but she doesn't know why its her happiest moment. Lee's patronus comes in the form of a fox.
Boggart: Dementors. She saw them once when she went into the Ministry with her father on the date of an important trial. Scared the bejeebus out of her.
Dementor: Getting lost in a small town and ending up falling into a disused canal, spending the night screaming her lungs out an trapped in a small space with stagnant, black water up to her waist. Its a miracle she's not claustrophobic after that one.
Amortentia: Coconut - its just so nice and tropical, she's been living on the british isles for heavens sakes, its tropical connotations make her love it
New books - or that paper and ink smell. She loves reading, and it reminds her of her dad's family house's library.
the way it smells when rains nearly there/just been past - theres just something about it, isnt there? Lia loves being in the rain, and theres something a bit mysterious about that smell.

Overall Personality: Aliah overall is an easy going, laid back kind of girl. She's a little on the loud side and generally her presence is known in class, she's opinionated and good at expressing this. If she's not interested in something, she'll be quiet, but she's always attentive and very observant, so can sit for hours in one place and no one will know she's there. As a result, she can blend entirely into her environment so has overheard a few things in relation to private conversations. While she likes to know things, she's not the type to engage in petty rumour-mongering despite her quick temper.
Generally, she's pretty friendly to everyone. But her sarcastic and rather dry, sometimes inappropriate sense of humour as well as her confidence, which is often mistaken for arrogance, can grate on people so she does grate on people. If she's pissed off, she her usual battl modus-operandi is to exchange some harsh words or have an argument, and she can hold a grudge for a decent amount of time is she's actually angry. She works hard but can play hard too.
She's a self-contained entity. She doesnt open up much about herself, and is quite capable of taking care of herself and is very independant, and goes about what she does with a ruthless, pitbull like mentality. She's a tough cookie, too (as a result of having two brothers?) and so is sometimes a bit outgoing, impulsive and very spontaneous. Not to say she's unfriendly or wild, she just doesnt see the point of handing out information like its candy. And she's quite friendly, she's usually got a smile on her face, even for no reason. Lee will always find something to laugh at as well, which can sometimes get her in a bit of trouble.
And it does, as well as her quick temper and quicker tongue. She's brutally honest when she knows it'll have maximum impact, but is capable of tact when she needs to be. More often or not though, her slight insensitivity at times has also landed her in awkward situations. But she can dig her way out, generally. When she says 'dig' she means 'climb' and 'way out' as in, out the window. Unless its several storeys up, of course. Then she finds she does have a problem. But then again, no one's perfect.

Family: Muggle-born mother (divorced, vanished off somewhere with an ex-ministry man), older brother Nathaniel, Full-blooded wizard father (and his poncey, old fashioned family), younger half brother Alec (short for Alexander, duh, son of Lee's neurotic, 'pedigree' stepmother who's really an nasty, gold-digging bigot), and her aunt and cousin Seraphina, (her mother was an artsy one, for sure) on her mother's side
Pets: a particularly unfriendly cat of her brothers that seems to spend more time covering Lia's pillow with fur than his
Residence: A nice flat in london with her older brother, Dad, step mother and half-brother, or during holidays or dreaded family gatherings, at her father's families country house somewhere in Sussex
History: Born to a father of an old wizarding family, probably just out of the nouveau-riche stage, and a muggle born mother who was the bane of her father's family's existence. Her mother, a muggle born witch with a muggle as a sister, had married her father three years prior to having Aliah, and only a year into their marriage, had her older brother Nathaniel (known as Nate, Thaniel, or Natty-boy to his siblings only). Her mother was quite young and flighty, and so it was no surprise really that after she had Leah the responsibility of having two young children got to her and so she left her dear little darlings in their cribs and vanished off with some rich business man to live in America.
Enter the step-mother, who practically raised Ally. Well, raised in the plainest form of the word. She moved in when Lee was about 6months old, naturally being an old family friend and her paternal grandparents first choice of wife. Old fashioned misers, really. Lee's sure Sonya was there to 'comfort' her father as soon as her mother stepped out. So she had parents, her dad being busy at the ministry and her step-mother fussing about the house but overall not achieving much. She and her brother, joined by another little brother Alec when Lee was 3, all went to private boarding schools in the country as soon as they could pack them off. Normal childhood, and all that. Being at boarding school with her brothers means she's quite close to them, and the three get on surprisingly well. One gets the feeling Alec doesnt like his mother too much either, so they have their little family.
Also at the boarding school was Leah's cousin, Seraphina, who found her name as funny as Lee did. They were best of friends through junior school and got along like a house on fire (which very nearly happened, Seraphina's little brother nearly set the whole place alight on a sleepover once, what a riot that was). They probably got along so well due to the fact that Seraphina's mother was a bit flighty like her younger sister, and was one of those artsy types who prefers to live in their own world than in reality., They parted fulltime sadly when Leah's invitation to Hogwarts arrived, but maintain contact. Thrilled to finally be following her brother round and be as annoying as possible, she got his old trunk, kept her hand firmly on the back of his jacket, and stepped through the pillar onto Platform 9 3/4. From there she's led a pretty normal life, doing well in her studies and her cocurricular, always hanging about the quidditch pitch to see her brother play. When Alec arrived, the three used their daddy's-money-bought-broomsticks to practice, and from here we get Lee's penchant for mooching clothes off her siblings.

Bugger. That was the bell. Fighting the small ball of dread that settled into her stomach, she unfolded herself from under the table in the Great Hall where she was sitting and packed her books away with very deliberate slowness. Shuffling papers, setting them straight, filing each one away carefully, it was another two minutes before she stepped away from the table with a huff and began to walk with long strides towards the North Tower of the school, keeping an eye on the numerous clocks situated in various hard-to-see nooks and crannies in the hallways. Despite the length of her stride, she was moving quite slowly, and by the time she reached the stairs of the tower the hallways were nearly deserted, her flats tapping softly on the floor, the noise echoing eerily around the cavernous stone hallway. Blinking and looking up at the spiralling staircase, she heard another, smaller bell, and swore.
'Damn! I'd meant to be fashionably late, not punishable late!' she huffed, and started up the stairs, taking two at a time until she practically jumped at the door, halting herself and regaining her composure before opening the door a crack and squeezing in, edging around the back row of desks on her toes and when she spotted a free one, dove into it and then proceeded to sink back in her chair, ignoring the looks from some of the more punctual students at the front of the class, and acting as if it was entirely normal for a student to be eaten by her chair. Sinking down, she stretched her hands out carefully onto the desk and deposited her books on the left corner of the desk, before sneaking a quick glance at the cute Hufflepuff boy sitting next to her, before her eyes travelled to the bottom corner of his text book. Quickly flipping her own book open to the same page, she acted like she was entirely in the right and was not acting as if she wasnt there in order to explain the lack of homework paper was due to the fact she'd stayed late in hogsmeade watching an alcohol-fuelled argument escalate, the end result being two barely old enough young boys taking turns swinging at each other and insulting each others mothers. It was all highly entertaining, but meant she'd gotten back to the castle late and had been too tired to finish the damn paper. Looking around and seeing more than a few empty desks, Aliah smiled to herself, confident in the knowledge some of her classmates had done the same. Next time she'd take bets on who would win, but for now she tried to make herself as small as possible while her eyes bored into the clock on the wall behind the teacher's head.
Fifty minutes later, she practically bolted out of the seat, zooming down the spiral staircase after having left her paper on the desk. All around, she could hear the choes of slapping feet, chatter and laughter from the students who now appeared all around her. Bustling through the crowds at the foot of the stairs to the tower, shooting smiles and people she knew and returning glares from people whose feet she trod on, or who trod on her feet, and managed to dart into a small courtyard, accidentally bumping into a student she hadnt liked the look of entering the corridoor and certainly didnt like the look of now. Shooting him a glare and returning his 'oi, idiot, watch where you're going!' with a mumbled, barely audible 'screw you', she now only registered the reason for the students hurry into the hallway had been the presence of rain outside. It fell in thick, fat drops onto the grass and worn stone of the courtyard, and looking up into the dull grey sky she could see no sign to an end of the cloud cover, so no doubt the rain would continue into the night.
Savouring the cool drops that fell onto her arms and face as she crossed the courtyard into the hallway that would lead her back to the great hall for lunch, and making sure her books were tucked safely under her robes to avoid the old, crinkly pages being damaged, she halted at a group of students, obviously not nearly as hungry as herself and hence in no rush to move out of the entrance arch to the hallway and out of her way. Sighing, she waited for a second before vaulting through one of the arches on the portico around the courtyard. As she did so, she ran squarely into Alec, who turned and looked at her with some surprise in his eyes before their blue irises narrowed and his mouth twitched up at the corner.
'Dropping in, squirt?' he asked, referring to her height of an inch shorter than he.
'Bugger off, Alec. I should have known it was you and your idiot mates blocking the way,' she returned testily. Cheeky bugger.
'You could have waited, you know. Patience is a virtue, and all that-'
'Stuff patience, i'm hungry, and i want lunch. So move..'
'Fine,' her little brother said with exageratted patience. He shot her a grin before she moved around him and walked towards the doorway.
'Oh and Lee?' he shot over the heads of the students walking past. 'My idiot friends aren't on the menu, ok?' he said, in an exageratted whisper. Lia just rolled her eyes and joined the queue of students lining up to get into the hall, all chattering about this that and the other, some looking absolutely sodden, probably just returning from the greenhouse or Hagrid's cottage. The temperature had dropped, so she pulled her robe about her until she got into the hall, where the numerous floating candles and magical heating system seemed in great contrat the the boiling, bubbling, gunmental coloured sky being projected onto the ceiling.
Hardly the most interesting, i know, but i always suck at samples :]
