Things had been quiet for Remus lately, except all that stuff that was going on between him and Tonks. Why couldn't she just understand and accept that nothing could happen between them? The really bad thing about all of this was that ever since Tonks expressed her feelings for Remus, he had been doubtful as to if he really didn't feel anything for her back. After all, he'd never really saw her as anything, but his best friends little cousin. They were thirteen years apart, for God's sake! Needless to say, he was certainly confused and he needed something that would help distract him from his personal troubles.
This is one reason why Remus was so very happy to hear that Dumbledore wanted to speak to him about something, about something that Remus could do for the Order. It had been quite awhile since Remus felt useful to the Order. He wasn't at quite the disadvantage that Sirius was, but there were very few things that Remus could do. He had enough trouble even getting a job, which could be very useful to the Order, depending on what the door was. Lycanthropy certainly was a curse, in more ways than one.
Remus had been spending a lot of time at Grimmauld Place, mostly because Sirius was back and obviously lonely. Having the bad self-esteem that he did, Remus always assumed that Sirius would get bored of his company and crave to be with someone more interesting. That was when Sirius would speak up, of course, and tell Remus to not be so down on himself.
Unfortunately, the full moon had only been about a week ago, so Remus was in a lot of pain and he was sore all over. At times like this, especially as he got older, he had to walk with a cane to assist him along. He definitely hated knowing that he had to walk with a cane at all at age 36.
Remus limped into the kitchen of Grimmauld Place and rested his cloak on one of the kitchen chairs. Last night was one of the first nights in awhile that he had spent at his apartment in Diagon Alley. As always, he headed for the cupboard to make a cup of tea. Even though Remus was a wizard, he preferred to make tea the Muggle way. It just seemed to taste better to him, for some reason. He filled the tea pot with water and set it on the stove. Waiting for the water to heat up, he headed to the cupboard to find his favorite tea: Earl Gray. "Ah, here we go," he said, as he slowly limped toward another cupboard to get a tea cup and saucer.

HERE WE GO AGAIN; WE'RE SICK LIKE ANIMALS WE PLAY PRETEND SO TAKE IT EASY ON ME; I'M AFRAID YOU'RE NEVER SATISFIED --------------------------------------------------- Piles of letters and papers were stacked on his desk. They towered over his head and not even his pointy hat was enough to compete with the stack of papers. Albus Dumbledore arched his eyebrow and turned to Fawkes. They exchanged glances, but it seemed Fawkes was the one who disapproved with this 'not-working-routine'. To Dumbledore himself, he was fine with this. Even though he had so much things to do, he still didn't seem to have any stress about. He turned away from the phoenix and smirked. The bird was like his own personal nagging device. Or like a wife. Well, maybe not a wife after all. Albus pulled out the Daily Prophet. He had at least half an hour before he was supposed to leave from Hogwarts back to London. Again, he had to leave Hogwarts unattended. There were outside forces that could easily come in and attack. Voldemort was gathering his strength, slowly but surely. The man with half-moon glasses stroked his silver beard and watched the picture of Cornelius Fudge wave his hands while making a statement. Cornelius always talked with his hands. He was a person, strong as a rock, but when the attacks and kidnaps got more and more frequent, the rock had started to crumble, bit by bit. And what was Albus doing? Well, that was a good question.
After sending an owl to Remus and setting up an appointment with him in Grimmauld place, the Headmaster made sure Minerva would look after the school when he was gone. Not that his visit would take long, but who knows, maybe Death-Eaters decided to attack right when Albus was gone. It wasn't an impossible idea. The old man took another look at his phoenix. He looked back at his master. Fawkes tilted his head. Lately, Dumbledore had noticed that the phoenix was very worried about his master. The blackened hand was a good example why Fawkes had a damn good reason to be worried. The old man was daft if not suicidal! Albus smiled to his pet and patted him. " You think, it's time to head back to London?" He asked from Fawkes and the bird only nodded slowly.
Albus Dumbledore was in no time back in good old London. Normally this old wizard would be dressed in bright colors, but these days, he wasn't exactly feeling like it. There was a war going on. As much as he hoped for peace, you had to fight for it. And of course, fighting could be done either very inconspicuous or in public. Voldemort had decided to go very public about this new war of his. So Dumbledore took a different approach. The job he had for Remus was both dangerous and very important. Even though he was battling with his 'curse', Dumbledore wanted him to use that as an advantage. What the headmaster wanted him to do was to live amongst people of his kind and persuade them to join Dumbledore's side. Voldemort was now doubt doing the same thing, but Albus had to try, right?
He arrived at Grimmauld place when the dusk fell down. The streets were quiet and the white bearded man stepped in to the house and leaving the muggle world behind. The whole house was simply quiet. Yes, Sirius was still living there, but the poor chap had no one but his own thoughts to entertain him. Sometimes Dumbledore did want to tell him to get out the house a bit, but the sad fact was, that he couldn't Even though Voldemort and his death-eaters thought he was dead, Dumbledore didn't want to risk Sirius' sudden appearance. Specially if he tried to contact Harry. Not that the man was daft enough to try that, but Sirius was stubborn enough. And still had the bad habit of doing things out of impulse. Dumbledore placed his hands behind his back and walked to the kitchen. He could've easily apparate, but then he might startle Remus and get a curse at his direction. The old headmaster entered the kitchen and set his piercing blue eyes at the young man. He didn't look so good. Not one bit. A sting of guilt build up in his guts. And Albus was about to send him off to do yet another dangerous mission. Bad, Albus, very bad. " Hello, Remus." Dumbledore greeted with a nod and smile.

Remus had just set his tea cup in his saucer and his saucer on the counter. He had just set the Earl Gray tea bag into the tea cup when he heard his name. "Oh, hello, Albus. A bit early this time," he said, smiling at the elder man. Remus was slightly nervous as to just what the job was that Albus wanted him to do because he had a slight idea of what it might be. "Would you care for some tea?" he said, motioning to his own tea cup and saucer.
No matter what the job was, though, Remus knew that he would do it. He owed Albus so much. After all, he had allowed the werewolf to stay at Hogwarts, despite his condition and had even build a house for him to go on those lonely full moons. And of course, he still felt guilty about lying to Dumbledore and putting his friends in danger. Sure, nothing happened, but there were a few near disasters. For instance when Sirius tried to trick Severus into going into the Shrieking Shack after Remus had transformed. That was extremely foolish and immature of Sirius, but all the same, Remus felt responsible for what happened or what may have happened and he felt guilty about it.
Remus jumped slightly as the tea pot started screaming and steam started coming out of its spout. He limped over to the stove without the assistance of his cane and poured the hot water into his tea cup. The dark color from the tea bag started to flush out into the hot water Remus grabbed his cane that was leaning against the counter and went to sit down at the table, groaning slightly as he sat down. "Now," said Remus,"Tell me what this job is." He took a sip, waiting for Albus's reply.
