Yet another Hogsmeade weekend trip had reached Lorelai's schedule and she was happy about it! As a fourth year, there wasn't too much pressure on her, but it was gradually building, what with the testing that she would have to undergo next year. Those stupid O.W.L.S.! She wasn't too worried, though, because she was sure that her professors would make sure that she was prepared for the tests. Some of her peers were far less relaxed about the situation.
Lorelai walked up to the hill that the Shrieking Shack was on. She found it creepy in a very glorious way. She had heard the rumors, of the building, of course. The rumors saying that it had been haunted by ghosts and specifically, poltergeists! The only poltergeist that she had ever come across was Peeves, and he wasn't exactly frightening, just very very annoying. ...Not that she ever wanted to come across a dangerous poltergeist. She was just curious and what kind of ghosts lived in the Shrieking Shack. Lorelai assumed it was some sort of poltergeist what with all the screaming and wailing.
She stared at the Shack for a few moments, then saw several white things falling in front of her face. It was snow! Lorelai grinned and lifted her head up to the sky, spread her arms out and began to slowly spin around in a circle. ...until she fell down. "Oh, darn," she said, sitting up and patting the snow off of her clothes.
As she sat there, a Muggle song popped into her head: Every Time We Touch by Cascada. It wasn't exactly her favorite song, but it was definitely catchy! Of course, this is something that she would never tell her parents or her younger sister unless she wanted to hear the speech about Muggles being evil people that want to ruin the world.
Ignoring the slightly guilty feeling in her stomach, she jumped up and began dancing to the tune in her head. Lorelai was jumping up and down, her legs and arms swinging every which way and her hair going all over the place.

LIKE THERE IS NO TOMORROW! Hannah had been wandering around Hogsmeade by herself. She loved coming here with her friends-especially since Ernie and Susan had put an effort into trying to cheer her up. But, she wanted to go off by herself for a while. The three of them had previously been at The Three Broomsticks when she informed them, with a rather firm tone so that they would get the hint that she didn’t want to be followed, that she was going to go out for a walk. That had been a good five minutes ago. She kept looking over her shoulder to make sure that neither of them had followed. She had been both delighted and saddened by the fact that they hadn’t.
So, the sixth year Hufflepuff decided she was going to go and visit the Shrieking Shack. She remembered visiting there during her Third Year and hearing it had been haunted, but she had always laughed at the claims. They lived in a giant castle with ghosts, and yet people were afraid of the Shrieking Shack. It probably had some sad ghost living in there that wanted to be alone. She felt sorry for the ghost-or, really, whatever lived there. People were always trying to break in to try to catch a glimpse at it, and, if they weren’t doing that, then they were chunking things through the window in order to agitate the poor thing. Hannah’s nose twitched before she shook her head.
She could already feel some of the snow that had collected on her hair melt and turn to water. She frowned for a little bit before giving into the giggles. She shook her head and smiled when she felt her side-ponytail smack into her neck. She had long since given up the pigtails that had given her the innocent, childish look. Nowadays, she always left her hair loose or tied it into a high ponytail, but she felt like being different. It was just like how she didn’t really want to seem like a giant bumblebee. That’s why she was wearing regular muggle jeans that were a deep dark blue and a black long-sleeved shirt with her black cloak over that. The only yellow she dawned on herself was her yellow eye shadow and the yellow on her favorite pair of earmuffs her mother had given her a year ago. Hannah winced when her thoughts turned to her mother, but she shook them off in order to continue on her way to the Shack.
Once she got there, however, her eyebrows shot up and her mouth twisted into a smile. Pretty soon, she found herself laughing. In front of her, there was a younger girl dancing as if she had nothing better to do. Hannah instantly placed her as one of her own Hufflepuffs. Well, they weren’t really her own considering she was just a sixth year, but she certainly thought all the younger ones were like family to her already. If she remembered correctly, and she generally tended to remember her Hufflepuff housemates really well, the girl in front of her was named Lorelai Knight. “Having fun, are we?” She giggled.
