anomalies are starting to appear, doorways in time to worlds we can barely imagine. the anomalies are conclusive proof that the past exists in a fourth dimension as real and solid as those we already know. our job is to predict and contain them.
It is early 2009, and a whole year since the disaster that replaced Claudia Brown with Jenny Lewis, and only a month since the fiasco at the containment unit, which resulted in the death or Oliver Leek and, regrettably, the death of Stephen Hart. Members of the ARC are on edge. Understandably shaken by the events that unfolded just two weeks before Christmas, members of the Anomaly Research Centre - specifically those working on the field response team - are having to find their own ways of dealing with the tragedy. But whilst the people who work so hard to keep the public safe are suffering inner turmoil, the anomalies haven't stopped opening - and with this comes more work for them. For some, this is therapy, but for others, the stress is beginning to crack their sanity. The field response team have their work cut out for them.
With Leek's death comes an even more sinister threat in the form of Helen Cutter. Hell bent on destroying humanity, she will do whatever it takes to fulfil her self-assigned mission. But Helen isn't the only one the ARC should be worried about. What they actually should worry about is the fact that what they think they know about recent events isn't all true - Stephen isn't dead. Future technology has allowed him an escape route, and now he's back in the 21st century, and poses a threat to the ARC and it's integrity - unless the ARC realise that he still exists and can somehow get him back onside.
New faces at the ARC are subject to scrutiny and suspicion by some, and this is understandable. The recent military intervention has put everyone on edge. The now frequently occurring anomalies are proving to be more then they may be capable of handling, especially since many are still riddled with grief. Outside influences are starting to take their toll, and maybe the ARC may suffer for it.
forever starts today
