After working alongside the Order of the Phoenix and some of his friends in the Department of Mysteries, Harry Potter was finally able to convince the wizarding world that the Dark Lord is back, though it resulted in the loss of Sirius Black. Now, as Harry, Ron, Hermione and all the other students and faculty of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry prepare for yet another year of magical education, evil is brewing stronger than ever. Voldemort has gathered his forces and together they are beginning to wreak havoc on both the Muggle and wizard worlds once more. But, even after the destruction of the Millennium Bridge, and the kidnapping of Mr. Ollivander, the Ministry refuses to believe that they can’t handle everything that’s going on. On top of that, Draco Malfoy has now been recruited to personally carry out two of the Dark Lord’s main plans, triggering suspicions in Harry after seeing Malfoy going through what appears to be an orientation at Borgin & Burke’s.
Upon arriving at Hogwarts, the students are faced with a very unexpected change: Severus Snape is now Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, replaced as Potions teacher by Horace Slughorn, a former professor persuaded out of retirement after a visit from Harry and Dumbledore during the summer. As the school year progresses, news travels of mysterious attacks on both worlds, causing the Ministry to finally admit to the possibility that they’re in over their heads and won’t be able to stop Voldemort. Now, the wizarding world is slowly finding itself face-to-face with evil once more, and Harry is finding his sixth year at Hogwarts one of the most intense years of his life, partially because of the Death Eaters and rumors of trouble brewing at the Ministry, and partially because of some new found feelings he’s beginning to discover for Ginny. But these aren't the only surprises that lie in store for Harry Potter, as someone who was assumed to be dead comes back, very much alive.
With increased security at Hogwarts, and the Ministry doing everything they can to stop the Death Eaters once and for all, the question on everyone’s mind is whether or not they will ever truly be safe again. Loyalties will be put to the test, and someone’s darkest hour may end up being another person’s brightest moment. We’re living in mad, dark times; with everything about to change, which side will you be on?

subplot one: the return of sirius black
After being shot in the back with the killing curse by his deranged cousin, Bellatrix Black, Sirius Black fell through the veil and was assumed dead by everyone, including Harry Potter. But, what Harry didn't know was that Sirius' death was fake. Before joining the battle at the Ministry, the Order of the Phoenix had come up with a plan: Sirius, knowing that Bellatrix would try and kill him, watched her very closely and had seen her casting, giving himself time to move out of the way just enough to avoid being hit by her curse. However, the plan was to pretend that he had been hit in order to trick the Death Eaters into thinking they had given themselves an advantage over Harry, so he let himself fall through the veil. Nobody but the Order knows the truth, and they are intending to keep it that way until the need to bring it out of the shadows arises.
